Michelle Potgieter is the Director of Brand and Communications at Samsung South Africa. In this position, Michelle manages a team of marketing and brand professionals, and is responsible for Samsung South Africa’s full marketing portfolio. Michelle comes with a wealth of experience and expertise in strategic and marketing planning, advertising and promotions management, change management as well as research and overall communication services. Michelle motivates and guides her team to develop solid brand awareness for Samsung through a broad spectrum of ATL and BTL marketing platforms, which is integral to the success of the brand within the local market. Michelle holds extensive experience in the technology field having held the position as Head: Market Development and Business Analysis for Telkom Corporate Customers Business Unit as well as Head: Strategic Marketing for Cell C - where she played an instrumental role in the formulation of the overall marketing strategy and the establishment and launch of the Community Services business unit and product offering. Further to this, Michelle has also worked for Sentech, responsible for the Marketing and Communications division as General Manager, and for LG Electronics South Africa as the Director for Corporate Marketing and Communications. Michelle completed her MA.Ed and PhD degrees at the University of Pretoria focusing her thesis on Business Facilitation and the effects thereof. Thereafter she obtained a MBA degree from DeMontfort University (UK) specialising with a dissertation topic on customer satisfaction within the service industry.
